Bounded by Storrow Drive, and Cambridge, Bowdoin, Park, and Beacon Streets, Beacon Hill is situated along the riverfront of the Charles River Esplanade to the west, just north of Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden. Beacon Hill has three sections that include: the south slope, the north slope, and the Flat of the Hill.

Beacon Hill is conveniently located near a variety of specialty shops and top restaurants, parks, cultural venues, medical care, and schools. Made the Historic Beacon Hill District in 1955, the neighborhood was the first such district in Massachusetts, created to protect historic sites and manage urban renewal.
